Baku Olympic Stadium

The Olympic Stadium is a multi-function venue designed to host football matches and athletic meets. It is located just to the north of the Athletes Village and hosted the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the European Games as well as Athletics competition. The stadium has a gross capacity of 68,195.

Venue Facts

The construction of the stadium started on 6 June 2011 after President Ilham Aliyev and FIFA and UEFA presidents Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini attended the ground-breaking ceremony.
